Kalia said the troops observed suspicious moves along the LoC and challenged the intruders, prompting a fight in which the two militants were killed. The weapons were recovered from the dead militants, the spokesman said.
The latest development came just hours after Pakistan broke the ceasefire in the Arnia area, killing cattle and damaging several properties.
IANS reported that Pakistani forces also used bombs and bombs using mortars, automatic devices and small arms.

On 8 August, the army had thwarted an important attempt by militants to infiltrate Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the Machhil area, killing five ultras in the resulting shootout.
“A large infiltration offer has been thwarted in the Machhil sector warning the troops,” a defense spokesman in Srinagar said.
Thirty-eight militants were killed while the army thwarted 22 infiltration offers along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir until June 2017. According to the army, attempts to infiltrate were defeated in the Gurez, Machhil, Naugam and Uri areas on June 6 and 8, in which seven armed intruders were killed.
